So I've been applying to ads on Craig's List for positions at daycare centers and babysitting jobs. Tonight I got this email:

First I was slightly offended, but I go to take the test anyways. And it's seriously one of those IQ tests you find on Facebook or something. The questions were incredibly easy (Who's the president? What country borders the US to the north?) and then at the end when they told me I got the highest score of the day they wanted my cell phone number. Nope. Not going to happen. I don't know if I even want to reply or think about working for this person. I'm just completely turned off.

And I have some more promising leads. I interviewed on Thursday with a daycare down the street (infant room! totally awesome!) and I should hear back from them mid-week. Then on Monday I'm going to visit a center and hopefully interview for a job.

If you have two classes with mostly the same students and you know that most of the said students are under a lot of stress because the department made mistakes when setting the schedule. Wouldn't it make it make sense to give said the students a break by making one project due the week before finals and the other the week of finals?

Apparently not. And after my dealing with the department this quarter I'm not surprised that I have two rather large research projects due to the same instructor a day apart. This will not be fun.

Can't help but answer this one.

For awhile I was really into the Disney show In A Heartbeat (the show that Val comes from). Jamie one of the characters was always wearing a shirt that said "Make It Stop". I just added his name to the end and there's my interesting name:)

I think I've pretty much come to terms with everything that happened, but it still just feels strange. Just how things are going to be next quarter. I've known most of the people in my program for about three years and while I don't hang out with them outside of class. It's just been nice having class with them all the time and knowing that I'll usually know people in most of my classes and that we're all in it together. And next quarter I'm going to be all by myself.

And I want to do more than the extra tutoring. I don't think that'll let me take the reading class again next quarter, but I want to take one other class. Just so I can continue learning since I'm stuck in school for another year. [Unknown LJ tag] you get this, right? I'm am planning on trying to get a job at a daycare at least part time, but I should still be able to make it work.

Tomorrow I see my adviser (she's pretty much the only one that I feel is truly on my side) about dropping the class. And soon after I will be tossing all the papers having to with that class. Bonfire, anyone?

Off to work now hopefully I won't get too hostile. Sunday shifts always put me in a bad mood for some reason.

So I just found out I'm not student teaching this spring, which means I'm not graduating.

It's not such a bad thing because I was overwhelmed this quarter.

I just don't know anymore.

I think my dreams are coming true! I was just reading an article about when Law & Order: CI is coming back and I noticed that Eric's name was in the guest star list! I really hope that it's true! I've been waiting for him to guest star on CI practically since JN came on. Those two have such awesome chemistry! Them in an intergorration room together would be amazing! Of course, he could be in a Goren-Eames episode which would still be cool I would just have to write fics about Wheeler and Eric meeting in the squad room or something. I really hope that this is true. I need more Eric on TV!

I wonder if this means that Lauren Ambrose will guest star on Law & Order again (she's already done it three times) and her character will a connection with Lupo. And that Reagan will be on something in the US besides Lifetime movies (and Sci-Fi for that matter). And that Reagan and Eric will be on a show together, preferably as a couple. A girl can dream, right?

Now to get started on my pile of homework...

This is the first story I've up in God knows how long, but I was inspired by last night's Life on Mars and this has been growing in my head all day. It's the beginning of a crossover with Conviction. I'm pretty giving Brian a different background (being raised by his cop uncle, as opposed to his single mother) and seeing where it takes me. It should be an interesting exploration in character development. I've always wanted to do something like this with Brian:)

No school today!! And I do mean NO SCHOOL! OSU canceled today which is surprised me, but it'll be nice to be able to catch up and have no reason to go anywhere. I'm just so happy not to be in my crazy reading class right now.

Okay, I have alot that I need to be doing right now, but I got distracted and did some googling and found this: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2008/12/law-order-cis-j.html. I'm not sure it's news for some of you, but I found it interesting and exciting. I really hope that they work it into the storyline somehow. I mean they worked Rachel Griths second pregnancy into Six Feet Under. Anyways, I just hope that she chooses a name better than Ignatius.

And defy_n_gravity, you know that Wheeler hooked up with Peluso at some point and that he's the father and they will have a little red head named Hannah:)

Okay, but it's the day after the election so I have to warn you: I may infuse my answer with a voting-related pun or two. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Life on Mars has elected (tee-hee) Eric Balfour to play the younger brother of Michael Imperioli's cop character. His airdate is TBD.


And I can't help thinking about the SIU connections. Brian as Falco's younger brother. So wrong, but so funny.

And Eric in 70's grab? Awesome!

Dustin watches and he probably won't be happy, but he'll get over it.

Eric is nice enough to personally update the band's MySpace page and this was posted on June 3rd (it wondered into my email a few days ago) and thought people might like to read it:

Life

Things have been really crazy and overwhelming. I've been working
really hard on the record which is why I haven't written much lately.
The album is coming along amazingly but something happened today and
I felt compelled to write it down and remind not just our friends and
fans but myself how beautiful and precious life is.

Early this morning I was riding a scooter to the gym near my house
when a car pulled out in front of me. I hit the car going 35 miles an
hour and flew over the car and landed in the street. Amazingly I did
a complete somersault over the entire car and land on my feet
standing up. After the rush of adrenaline and shock the pain in both
my legs overwhelmed me and I collapsed. I was rushed to the hospital
sure that my life was going to be permanently altered. My legs had no
feelings and there was blood coming out of all different points of my
body. After three hours of pain that I cannot describe an ER doctor
came in to inform me that not a single bone in my body was broken and
once they cleaned up my wounds and put a couple stitches in me I
could go home. Witnesses at the accident thought I had died.

Well I'm happy to say that I'm alive and well and recovering at home.
It's going to take a couple of days for the swelling in my legs to go
down so I can walk properly but there is no serious damage. Tiffin
has been here helping take care of me and my sister Tori has been
amazing.

All of this has beautifully pointed out how lucky I am and I am now
100% sure that there are angels watching over me! Today could have
been really different but fortunately for me the universe has
something planned for me. My dedication to my art, my music, and
helping make the world we live in better every single day I'm here
are paramount to this plan.

Thank you to all of my friends and to the fans of the band who's love
helped slow down time today so my body had enough time to float
through the air and land on my feet ready to face the world in the
most dedicated loving way I can!

I'm so happy that he's okay. That situation is so scary. Cars are scary when you're not in one.

I can't wait to see if any songs come out of this. He wrote "Relvation" (I'd upload it if my PC was working) after a car accident he was involved in (a drunk driver hit him in his car and his car went onto the sidewalk hit a guy on the sidewalk and severed his leg) and that is an incredible song.
